About me
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Peter, a University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) student in Information Technology. The blog was created as part of the coursework in my Fundamentals of Information Technology & Literacy course, and it serves as both a learning device and a personal project as I continue to grow in this new field.
I've just started this learning experience, but my interest in technology and computers goes back many years. I built my custom computer around 14 and have been experimenting with hardware upgrades since then. I don't have hands-on IT technical experience, but I've spent years studying how the hardware and software work together and helping friends troubleshoot issues. That personal drive and interest ultimately prompted me to seek a degree and work toward IT certifications.
Before this career transition, I served over 18 years in the United States Air Force, performing Security Forces (a military policeman enforcement position). Now that I'm stepping out of the military and into a new chapter, I aim to develop a good background in information technology and cybersecurity. I'm preparing for my Security+ certification and plan to complete it shortly while I work towards my bachelor's degree.
My career goal is to join the IT or cyberspace at an entry position and grow into a long-term career safeguarding systems, solving problems, and helping others navigate technology safely and effectively. I will document what I learn about hardware, networking, programming, security, and more from my coursework and self-practice here on this blog. Whether you are a student, a tech enthusiast, or a beginner, I hope this blog is informative and valuable as we all continue to learn.
